brake pads

I was wondering why on my front pads the inner pad wears out so much faster than the outter? I just changed them 3 months ago; along with one of my rotors/discs.
Is it because of cheap pads or...?

thanks

you might check the pins/bolts that attach the caliper to it's bracket, if these are dirty/rusty it'll hold the caliper still wearing only the inner pad instead of allowing it to float and use both equally.

Another cause could be rust forming behind the piston sorta locking the piston in place. VERY important to bleed the brake fluid at least every 2 years to keep moisture at a mininum.

should i just get new pistons? I don't think they are that expensive...maybe a wise investment?

You probably could but usually the rust is on the caliper which requires a light honing. If its too deep, then usually a new or rebuilt caliper is required to correctly remedy the problem and is much faster in getting the car back on the road.

well i tried removing the driver side "sliding bushings" and i put anti-seize on them to kinda lube them up. The bottom one is sliding pretty good, but the top one is still really stuck there even after cleaning it, putting more anti-seize etc.
Is there any reason why this would be happening?

Thanks!

PS: gonna check out the other side tomorrow...

just keep workin it till it's nice on all the pins, and you might have to replace one or 2. At least you're on to your problem now.
