clutch problem ?

Hi,

I've a "91 tercel, 2dr, manual trans., 4 cycl, front-wheel, 130000 miles". Recently, I heard a "roar" like sound (more like "errrr") when the engine is on high rpm. That is when I want to change from first gear to second gear and so on, when rpm is high. The sound comes out eventhough the gear is in neutral position.
I heard the sound came out from around header, and engine -> hit the gas , ther "roar" or "errr".

Do you think its time to replace the clutch or something else ? fyi, I also had change the cv joints.
