Trecel running like crap, basket case

I'm working on a 95 Trecel a friend had the head worked over and attempted to assemble himself. I had to install the timing belt correctly to get it to run and now if runs like total crap. It runs pig rich on 2 cyls and shakes real bad @ idle-part throttle full throttle seems ok. Ive checked all the vacuum lines and they appear to be ok, the exhaust manifold is leaking and I was thinking it might be fooling the 02 into thinking its running lean but that would show rich on all 4 not just 2 plugs, I havent been able to pull any codes as of yet either. Any suggestions before I start going at it again? I did check and adjust the valve lash on a few valves since they were out of spec but it dident change anything.
