Echo Hatch Radio Install/Removal. Need help !

Hi guys !

My friend just bought an 2005 Echo Hatchback with a tape deck. She got herself a JVC Mp3 player ( 1 din size) and I was wondering if any of you had instructions on how to remove the stock radio. Or maybe a web site that explains it ? Thanks, I did a search in this forum but didnt find anything.

And I guess I need a install kit since the hole in the dash for the radio is double DIN right ?

Thanks !

Dominic

I'm still waiting for my, 05 Echo Hatch.....First thing I'm doing when I get it is tearing the factory deck and speakers out. As soon as I get it, and do the swap, I'll post instructions, unless it has already been done. I'll check back in a week or two when mine arrives from overseas. And by the way, yes you will need a mounting kit. I've already inquired about one and it will probably run you about $20-$30 CAD.

Pull off the heater controll nobs and there will be 2 screws there...Take them out and pull the entire section off. Then the lower section that surrounds the radio and ash tray simply pulls off and reviels mounting screws and bracket for the radio.good luck
