Canada ABS questions?

Hatch back Echo comes with ABS and the sedan has optional ABS.
Here is my question, does the hatch back has 4 wheel ABS or
2 wheel ABS?

If it has ABS, it should be 4 wheel. Ive seen older vans and pickup trucks with 2 wheel ABS but never a car.

Consult your dealer. Insist that they ask one of their mechanics. Don't take the word of a service advisor or the first person to answer the phone.
Personally I would like to get rid of my ABS. I can't stand it. I checked the fuse panel and unfortunatly, if I pull the fuse I lose some vital componants. So......

ABS is bad news and the hype around it is unfounded. The fact is not too many service areas know how to service them and the ABS system isn't very robust especially around the wheels where corrosion is most. This is more likely to give off a dash ABS warning than anything else.

So my experience is it's not worth the trouble, in fact after pulling my hair out on so many repairs the next time it failed, I never fixed it.

Just learn how to brake properly in all situations and you won't have problems. Take it to a an empty car lot in winter and practice road handling there.

Looks like you still haven't answer the question. (2 wheels or 4 wheels?)
Is ok, I already got the answer from another forum.

Can you pump your brakes 50 times in a second?

And my answer is to forget it altogeather.

50 times? Not always the remedy. I've driven deuce and a halfs in Norway and Denmark winters while in the service. I've driven 200 miles in blizzards of the 70's in situations where they said to stay home. I've handled cars and trucks on highways that were sheets of ice without any mishaps (In fact I can remember a lady in a small car who followed me all the way to Montreal and beeped a thank you as I got off the ramp.)

Believe me, they won't tell you this, but on many occasions ANY breaking can be dangerous when handling some control situations. So the best practice is to actually get out there and drive and save the money.

All hatchback Echo comes standard with ABS, I don't have a choice.
