I have discovered the new funk, the Echo Hatchback...I want one as soon as possible, but after reading the Japanese website, I found out that the new, redesigned 2005 Echo (Vitz) is now available overseas. After some more research, I learned that the 2006 Echo in Canada will be replaced by this already-released-in-Japan, 2nd generation.

Anyways, I heard it on a forum, similar to this one and would be stoked to find out if and when this 2nd Gen. Echo Hatchback will be released here in Canada.

Can anyone prove / dispell this rumour?

at echofans.org....read up on it. Hell, even join that forum....That is, if you're totally stoked on echo hatchbacks.

Yes, it will be the new Echo Hatchback, once Toyota Canada does the correct bumper mods to meet our crash regs, confirmed by an aquaintance that is a Toyota Product Rep responsible for the current and new model launch, however, Toyota is consolodating names, and dumping ECHO in favor of only Yaris and Vitz nomenclature...Fall 2005 at the earliest...

Word on the street is that Canada is getting the redesigned Echo Hatch as a '06 model
