USA lighter plug 2000 echo

Any advice out there re: why no juice to my 2000 Echo's cigarette lighter? Fuse checks OK but the wire at the back of the lighter is dead. It worked until I used my 12 volt coffee pot a few times. This pot occasionally blew fuses in other cars but replacing the fuse always fixed it. Where do I look next?

Check the wiring. If your coffee pot has blown fuses in other cars, it may be drawing too much current for the wires to handle.

The fuse should go before the wires and it did not blow. What I can see of the wires looks OK.

With a voltmeter, check the contact points inside. You may find that you are getting little or no contact. If that doesn't work.....you must dig deeper. BTW if you don't have a voltmeter, you can usually pick one up at any automotive place for $10+ depending on the quality that you want. For most wiring people you can get away with a cheapy(unless you are an electrician).
