Yup, I got the same info way back in March from a Toyota product launch rep...I'll be pre-ordering my 2006 Yaris next month...It will be wierd to have the RS designation on the Yaris instead of T-Sport...
I have no idea why Toyota thinks "Yaris" is a name improvement over "Echo"...go figure! According to a saleman I spoke to earlier this week, there will be some modifcations made to the sedan, but the hatchback will remain pretty much the same.
Well the car has always been known as Yaris in most parts of the world.. Toyota named it Echo HB here because they already had the Echo name in North America and they didn't want to introduce a new name and confuse people. I bet now they wish the hadn't.
I doubt the Yaris will come with that emblem in Canada. It'll most likely be replaced with a HUGE toyota emblem. Why can't they just send us the same way as they do in Japan?
