Putting in new stereo:2005 echo

Hello, I just bought a new echo and I'm installing a new cd player. All of the wires seem to be connected correctly but the cd player keeps cutting off after 5 seconds. I reset the cdplayer and it comes on. Again, 5 seconds and cuts off. Any ideas????

thanks

Chris

Hi. This may be obvious. but I just got done installing a CD in my 03 Echo and the install book told me to "press reset button after (1st) power up." have you done that? Jack.

Thanks for reply! Figure it out this afternoon though. I blew a fuse sometime during the installation. I didn't notice because it kept coming on for 5 seconds, ya know? But, I tried plugging the old radio up and it didn't come on, so I realized might be a fuse..checked, one was blown, replaced it..WALAH! The rest is history.

And of course, you had to pull the whole radio to change the fuse? You do on mine anyway. I just don't get that design. Just hope the fuse doesn't blow, I guess. Not exactly user friendly.
