Echo shifter thread pattern

Does anyone know the thread pattern on an Echo's shifter. I am trying to buy a shift knob but don't know what adaptor I need. I'm pretty sure it is 12mmx1.25 or 1.0mm or maybe 1.5mm.

Thanks,

Dave

12x1.25...most if not all Toyota knobs are the same thread (supra is the same)

If you're still unsure, just unscrew the shift-knob off (by twisting the knob either clockwise or counterclockwise until it loosen up to tell which direction is correct, because I don't remember, but don't worry you won't break it) and then measure the diameter and thread length.

Thanks for your replies. I'm 98% sure it is 12mmx1.25. I have a shifter on order with that threat pattern and I'll let everybody know for future reference when it gets here. I obviously took off the shifter and measured the diameter at 12mm, no problem. But measuring the thread by eye to 1/4mm is not obvious. I put a piece of paper on the threads and ran a pencil accross it to trace the threads. Unfortunately I got 1.25mm with a regular ruler, 1mm by eyeballing it with a micrometer (eng. units and converted) and then 1.5mm with a cheapie plastic spanner thing. The average is 1.25 and since most Toyotas are 1.25, we'll go with that.

Cheers,

Dave

P.S.: Just got my Echo 1 week ago and so far 300km on half a tank!

Bob, what are you trying to say? Quit speaking in codes! Just kidding ;-) Yeah Bob, I mistook your first post to say that most Toyotas are 12mmx1.25 like your Supra, but not that it was FACT that the Echo is as well.

Thanks again for the info.

Dave

Got the shifter with the 12mm x 1.25 adaptor and it all fits as expected. For those who are looking for some interesting shifters at a really good price check it out: http://www.ripps70.com/
