I just ordered the Alpine 9884 from Crutchfield and it syncs really well with my Ipod. The controls can be funky at first but you will get used to it. I paid about 180 for it and it pushes my door speakers and the Polk 6 1/2's very well. The 9884 also has a remote you can buy for extra. If you want to spend more then I would recommend the Alpine x100. Nice interface and beautiful display.
The install was pretty easy because Crutchfield sends you a custom install kit for whatever model you have.
Good luck with your search. The Alpine HU's have never done me wrong.
