I'm familiar with cryogenic soaks for metallic parts, and for improving resistance to crack formation it's an excellent process. As for improving mileage on an engine, I'd say very, very doubtful. I'd like to see any empirical test results that confirm better MPG. If I owned a NASCAR or Formula 1 car I'd seriously consider cryogenically soaking all major engine components, but only for reasons of durability.
