03 Camry LE - Steering very hard to turn
Hi,
For a week now, my steering wheel has become very hard to turn.
Power steering fluid is fine.
Few weeks ago, the car slipped and the tire hit the curb, but it was driving fine after that.
I took it to dealer yesterday but it was closed, today as well. Today it was extremely hard, so I took it to Canadian tire and paid for an estimate.
They said, that the Steering Fork/York? Joint needs to be freed up, it is a common problem with Camrys and requires 3 hours to disassemble/reassemble the steering.
I have done searches and not found any one else facing a similar problem on toyotanation. There is no sound, the steering is just very hard, not all the way around, but it sorta goes between hard and soft as you turn the wheel. Tire pressure is also ok in all the wheels.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I will take it to Toyota tomorrow, I would rather have them take something totally apart than Canadian Tire.
My car has 153k kms on it.
Thank you.
