XM Radio

I’m taking delivery of a 2011 Tc next week. The dealer wants $450 to add XM to the stock radio. What does the dealer actually add for $450? The unit is already prepared for XM. I can buy an FM modulating unit from Best Buy for $150 and install it myself. I would rather not add another unit to the dashboard. Is there a way I can add XM to the existing radio without using the FM modulator?

One cheaper option is to save labor. You could buy the parts and install them yourself. Other then that, you're gonna be adding a unit to the dash if you go aftermarket.

The parts you're getting include all the wiring, brackets, and reciever parts necessary to install the xM to make it functional. The car is "xM ready", not equiped with xM
