Catalytic Converter Problems

About two days ago, I was driving my AE92 Sedan on a turnpike highway, Suddenly a Silver Jetta cuts me off and starts putting his hazards on, I got furious . So I raced him where I was going about 70 mph then I pushed it to the 110 mph on my speed'o meter. I was probably even going faster than that seeing the Jetta deminishing behind my rear view mirrors. Although I had a moment of joyful victory with my mini race, I suddenly heard a clanking noise underneath my chassy, it was not the heat shield but the cat. I replaced the darn thing about five times already, Can anyone tell me if going straight piping on an AE92 Corolla Sedan would be a smart idea.
