yes, i used the stock slider.. i had to dremel/hack away a few pieces of metal from it so i could have a flat mounting surface. i used an angled 90 degree steel stock, i can't really explain how i did it cause it's unexplainable without diagrams.

my seating position was lower than the stock 86 seat

also, please keep in mind that the 84/85 seat rails and the 86-87 rails are different in design. i did my converison on the 85 rails
