2az bell housing pattern
Hi all. I have a 86 corolla sr5 and have been attempting to decide what would be the best engine to upgrade to. Basically here is what I have so far. The standard run of the mill motors and then the Tacoma 2.4/2.7L RZ series motors. These are great but heavy. Basically I was wondering if anyone knew what the bell housing pattern looked like on a 2az motor to see if there is anyway to turn it 90 degrees for my purposes. I have heard speculation that the 2az will mount to the 2/3rz bell housing without issue. However, no one has been able to confirm this am I don't have a 2az lying around I could check it against. If anyone as any ideas that would be great. Thanks, Jordan. Also, if you happen to know it is similar or the same as another engine that would be good to as I have come across a number of motors that share a bell housing with other motors.
