Superclos1,

When it starts does it run smooth or does it run rough?

It starts smooth and runs for about 3 seconds ant stops . I replaced the fuel pump ,strainer, filter next to engine ,spark plugs and wires and distributor cap and coil . I sprayed starting fluid trough the intake manifold and it stays running as long as I keep spraying .

Superclos1,

Jumper FP and +B and try to start the engine and see if it will run. If it runs and stays running then you might have a bad Fuel pump control relay. The FP and +B will by pass the fuel pump control relay and allow the fuel pump to run all the time,

superclos1,

You might try taking loose a fuel line in the engine compt. and jumper the pump and see if you have a steady fuel supply coming from the fuel pump. Catch it in a bucket so you don't have fuel running all over the floor. Make sure that it will continue to flow past the 3 second mark. Maybe even for say 5-10 seconds. It does sound like a fuel delivery problem, if you can keep it running with the starting fluid. You might have a bad fuel pressure regulator. 22r right?

superclos1,

Check the engine temp sensor and make sure that it is working. That temp sensor is just a switch. It turns the start circuit on below 176 deg and tuns it off at 176deg. Not getting power at the injector tells me that the system thinks it is at 176 deg all the time even when cold. That might be the reason why you don't have voltage at the cold start injector.

okay i replaced the one under the water hose (green one) and it starts up but theres still no power to the injector , i also took it for a test ride and it has very low power i barely made it home ... the timeing is on the zero mark and it idles fine but when i drive it the engine has no power to make it up a hill.. one thing i noticed is that its running rich on fuel

Superclos1,

I think on that model the timing is 5 deg. btdc, with the diagnostic pins shorted. You have to check it with the pins shorted. Get that timing straight first.
