Problem with my new to me 86 4Runner

bought an 86 4runner last week-end. In great condition for what i paid. I have noticed that at lower rpms it hesitates/bogs and when it gets up towards 3000 rpms (just a guess no tach) it takes off like a scalded cat. If you keep the rpms up it runs really strong, however if the rpms fall down then it has very little power and I end up downshifting. Also when it loafing at the lower rpms the CEL will come on however it goes out when you take the load off the motor or speed the motor up to where its "happy"

22RE
5 speed
Fuel injected

I had a similar issue with my 87 4runner. my CEL would turn on and if i let off the gas for a second the light would turn off. I checked the codes and it was my O2 sensor. the light hasn't come on since I replaced the O2 sensor.

also, nice 4runner!

after 2 tanks of 93 octane and 2 cans of sea foam the truck is running much better. I suspected that it had been sitting a long time before I bought it and that the fuel system might be gunked up. Still the occasional CEL which I'll get the codes pulled this week-end.

Thanks for the compliment.

Peace,
