'86 Runner, front windows stopped working!

I'm having a tough time with my front windows, and I'd appreciate your help.

I was driving with the windows open, closed them both, and then they stopped working completely. The door lock switch still works. I've verified that the fusible links are good (have continuity), that the ignition fuse has power and is good, and that the lower circuit breaker is getting power, while the top one is not. Both breakers have continuity. The door control relay is showing the proper voltage and continuity, except for terminal 8, which does not have 12v with the ignition switch on, as it should. The main window switch (driver's side) tested out OK according to the FSM.

Any ideas? I'm thinking that it's either a bad wire leading to the top circuit breaker socket, a bad relay, or a bad switch.

Thanks in advance!

The_Jerbel,

From what you have said it sounds like the control relay might be at fault. You might want to see if the wire on the opposite end of terminal 8 is powered or find out where the power drops off. I would say that you are going in the right direction.

That power comes from the IGN fuse, have you checked that?

The top CB is for the locks, bottom CB is for windows, so that doesn't match your problem.

Yes, I have power coming from the IGN fuse socket.

Also, I have confirmed that both CB's are getting power and work properly. I have also swapped out the main switch on the driver's side door, with no change, so I'm thinking that the door control relay must be at fault. Does that sound right?
