22re idle

For some time I have been living with a fast idle, it takes a long time for it to come down after start, and then its fine, turn off and start when warm and its normal idle, but when cold it stays high longer then should be.
I am guessing its one of the water temp switches, any help on this, thanks.

I agree with jetwhine, I'd check the ECT.

thanks for the replies. I was thinking there were more than one temp sensor that would affect the idle.

I recently had the water pump replaced and now it seems there is way more pressure in the cooling system, like when you take off the new radiator cap, it just wants to explode. The motor runs at normal temp, my mechanic said it was a generic cap, toy calls for 13 psi release, would this make a diferance if the one he put on was higher? I had no issues with high inline pressure when I had the leaking water pump, or ever before, i guess air can be pumped in via the pistons somehow though, but never had the problem before the new cap and water pump.

okbye1,

If there are any issues after a job always revert back to stock. I think you might want to change that cap and put a Toyota part on it just for peace of mind.
