Buzzer or Door Chime 1989 4runner

Hello all, I didn't know if there may be a way to disconnect the annoying door buzzer entirely, from this awesome 89 4runner I just bought. I was thinking a brick at frist, or buying ear plugs, but I thought I'd ask this forum 1st...

Also, if anyone has taken doors off of their 1984 - 1989 4runner, do the police care that there are no side mirrors?

Thanks !

gobeverage,

First off if you are driving around city streets and highways with the doors off that sounds like a safety issue. And driving with out a drivers, side mirror would attract the attention of the local police. I don't think you would want that hassle.
As far as the buzzer, you can disable the warning system.

You can disconnect the switch that senses the key is in the ignition, or dig in and find the chime and disconnect it.
As for running without doors and mirrors, why don't you ask your local PD?
It may be legal where you are. Here in MD and PA no mirror means a ticket, and no doors is iffy.
