22R Ignition and distributor wiring
I have a 22R carburated (1985 or so vintage) in my home made Jet boat. I used to have a 20R in it but changed the engine last year. I just put the old distributor on the 22R but it was hesitating and missing, so I bought a distributor from a 22R and installed that. The old distributor just had one wire going from the coil to a post on the distributor cap. The 22R distributor has a two wire round plug coming off it with a black and a white wire. I assume the black wire go together, but where does the white wire go to? Is it just going to ground? The old coil and exciter are from the 20R, do I need a new coil and exciter?
