87 4 Runner Motor ?'s

I am currently looking to buy a 1987 4runner with 304,000 miles on it. The owner stated that the heads, timing chain, cover, and oil pump has been changed. My question is, with this particular work being down to upper but no work to the lower portion of motor being completed, does this motor have a lot of life without me having to put alot of $ into it off the bat? Just wanting to get some thoughts. Also, is $3300 a good price for good body, fair interior? Thanks!!!

Any engine with 304K on it that has not been rebuilt is likely on borrowed time. Crank and rod bearings have to be getting a little thin. No way I'd pay anything close to 3300 for a truck like that unless it has had a ton of refurbishing and looks pretty darn good.

$1300 would be really pushing it. That's a lot of miles, even for a Toyota.
