Generally, SA don't ride or handle as well. Plus, that means you're getting an 85 or older so things are really starting to wear out. A new engine may or may not be in order for something that old.

IFS is debatably just as strong as a SA, however, the IFS probably exerts more stress on the axles because of all the wierd angles it has to go through. It's also good enough for 90% of the off roading in the US. Once you start doing trails harder than the Rubicon, the solid axle really shines.
