USA 95 4Runner Front Axle Replacement

I noticed the other day that the boot for my CV at the passenger side dif was torn and in turn grease was thrown everywhere. Long story short, through some research on the net, it appears it might be wiser to replace the entire axle and CV assembly instead of just the boot. Since I was doing that, I figured I would replace the driver side as well as those boots appear cracked and worn. Since I was going that far, I figured I would also replace the tie rods as the alignment shop said they were unable to break the adjustment sleeve free and wanted $500 to replace the rods. The shocks also look really really bad so I picked up four of those. My question is: Does anyone have any experience or insight, good or bad, with any of the three projects? I am going to attempt them all at the same time. Does anyone know of any helpful guides I may be able to read up on before I start?

The Factory Sevice Manual would be very helpful to start with.
And unless you have some mechanical experience, it would be a necessity.
