91 4runner Idle/electrical

Hello and thanks in advance for any help.
I have a 91 4runner with 333K miles. Has a new rebuilt from previous owner with about 4K on it.
1. When starting cold it idles high at 2K rpms but comes down to normal idle when warm and runs fine. Wondering if thats normal. Also when idling high, it gets even higher when I push the clutch in?
2. I was told I have the original catalac converter and a buddy recomended I eliminate the whole thing until I can get it replaced. It came smogged so I am good for 2 years. Am thinking to remove and bypass and take my time to find a new one. Am I ok to run without it for a while or is this not advised?
3. I have some electrical issues as well. with headlights on, when switching to brights headlights go dark. Also can someone tell me if there is a switch I am not seeing or is the antenna supposed to come up automatically when starting? Its stuck down.
4. Yes, I have a saggy butt. Can anyone recomend where to order replacement coils?
THANKS

1) normal
2) a CA emissions truck has 2 O2 sensors, one before and one after the cat conv.
If you gut/bypass the cat, the ECM might see it as a problem. It is expecting to see different readings from each one, and with no cat both O2 sensors will send the same signal. Just a possibility.
3) the light problem is usually due to a bad combination switch. Look here for some DIY repair info.
4) your local parts store should be able to get you OEM equivalent coils that will restore you to original stock height (Moog makes some) or there's plenty of lift springs that will raise you 2" or more over original stock height.

Thanks for the reply!
So if I gut the cat and the ECM reads the same signal from both sensors and decides theres a problem, what will happen?

You only have one o2 sensor on that year ( forward of the cat), 96 and up OBDII have two.
If it passed smog then there is no reason to remove it , if its in good condition you dont loose any power( or very little) with it on and your not stinkin up the air us old farts have to breath.
