Radio Antenna mystery

Here goes :

I used to have two cars, my Pickup 1991, and my Toyota Paseo 1997.

When I sold the PASEO 1997 I transfered the car head unit to my pickup and the pickup to the paseo to keep the best one for me.

BEFORE SWITCH ( Both cars had functional radio no troubles)

AFTER SWITCH (Pickup truck did not get radio signal, Paseo's radio worked fine with the pickup's old radio)

So I decided to order a new antenna because the cable was sort of 'BUSTED' on the end and I ended up cutting it off to screw around with it and try to get radio from it.

RECIEVED my brand new antenna, installed it in the fender, pushed the wire through the floor, plugged it in the head unit, STILL NO RADIO... no signal at all...

You guys have any idea what is going on?

Toypick,

Do you hear fuzz out of the speakers? There might be some electronic logic in the newer radio so it can't be stolen and used in another type of car.
