2nd Generation Fog lights

Hi there,

its been a while.

I'm getting some fog lights and first of all, its been a challenge trying to find a place on the front end that looks ok with fog lights! If you're bone stock without that handy bull bar, they just don't look that great anywhere...but

i think i've found some lights (Hella 500 series) and a position i'm comfortable with.

by the way, review the lights if you want. I found some for around $72 which seem to be the going rate.
any info is helpful, but my actual question is:

my plan is to simply drill straight down into the top of the front bumper to mount these bad boys, so about how thick is the steel into which i am drilling? I have a pretty beefy drill, but if you think i should do it another way, please advise me. I looked under the bumper and it doesn't seem that thick, but i guess i just don't know if i should get a special bit or not...

thanks!

by the way i am aware that the whole point of a fog light is to see UNDER the fog layer which requires them to be mounted lower...

but like i say they just wouldn't look good anywhere else, and also, all i really want is some extra visibility.

The bumpers are 1/16-1/8" thick (pretty thin).
