antena replace

1994 4-runner SR5, 3.0, 4WD.

Problem is the RADIO ANTENA

Its broke off, and whines for 60 seconds at engine start-up or shut off.
Do I need to take off fender and take out dash to replace it? Or easy alternative?

Yes!!! It was very simple, but was easy with you guys help. The gear cable came
loose from the old mast and I pulled WW liner, and electrical motor assembly, pulled old cable out, then replaced it, the new mast with geared cable fed right in!!! A+
It took 23 minutes.
