2nd Generation '95 4Runner Engine sudden stop problems.

I have a 1995 4Runner in West Africa, It is 4wd, v6, manual transmission, It started the problem of suddenly shuting down the engine while in motion 2 months ago, the car will just go off (turn off) while in motion.

Several other times if I start the car and drive for some minutes and switched off the engine, The 4Runner engine will not startup again until after several minutes of manually touching and checking all fuse before it will start again.

I have took the 4Runner to several Engine mechanics and electrical wiring mechanics with no solution because of lack of diagnostic tools in the area.

Can anyone please help with suggestion on possible solution areas for the mechanics to check to resolve this problem or what part could be responsible for this problem.

Thanks in advance.

computel,

Do you have a total electrical failure or does the engine just shut down and you are just left with lights on the dash? Electrical failure is one thing and just engine shut down is another.

Thanks Jetwhine for the quick response,
It is a total electrical failure with no light on the dash resulting in the engine shut down.

computel,

It sounds too me as if you have an ignition switch problem. You might want to replace it and see if it fixes the problem.
