OK, i recently acquired a 92 4runner with a 5" lift on 35s well when i have the ac on and shut off my truck it doesn't want to turn back over, iit almost seems flooded then about 5min later it will fire, sputter and then run fine. same when im running it in 4wd it seems like under any load it does this. can anyone help?
1) Have you checked the ECU for malfunction codes?
2) If you turn all accessories off what happens when you try to start when it is hot?
does not throw a CEL and i know it does work, if i turn all accessories off it still will take a while to start it, i read online it could be a bad cold start, but it only does it when i run the ac or engage the 4wd and put a "load" on the motor
I would do a check of the cold start timer, which controls the cold start system to start when cold or hot. I would pull the cold start injector out when it is hot and see if it still squirting fuel while cranking. If it is then you might have a cole start timer.
Also you might want to check the ECT (engine coolant temp sensor) If that starts sending bad signals then your system will start to do funny things when trying to start.
Also when your enigne is running and you turn off and on the A/C does your engine respond with idle up and idle down?

The start injector is behind the egr valve on the intake manifold. The ECT is located at the back of the motor and has a brown wire with a black stripe and a green wire with a light green stripe
Here are some figures to use when checking the ECT.
1) 10-20 K ohms @ (-20C, -4F)
2) 4-7 K ohms @ ((0C, -32F)
3) 2-3 K ohms @ (20C, 68F)
4) 0.9-1.3 K ohms @ (40C, 104F)
5) 0.4-0.7 K ohms @ (60C, 140F)
6) 0.2-0.4 K ohms @ (80C, 176F)
