Canada concern about my build

hey boys...im continuing on my 95 4runner build for the bush toy im planning on comin up with..a little while ago i posted a forum on frame repair......the 4runner i got from a friend ....well he nosed it hard on the front right...then rolled...ect..ect..well i got a free 88 pickup today from the friends son.....it has a 4cylinder fuel injected engine...and it is one of those extra cab trucks.....it has rear leaf instead of coils like my 4runner....my question is can i tranfer everything from my 4runner to this pick up frame......or is the pickup not as tough or heavy duty like the 4runner....the diffs......or will even the 4runner body fit on the pick up frame...i like this idea cause then i have a solid straight frame to work with......there is no box left on the pickup and the cab is done.....i want to keep the 4runner body cause i just built it into a minin avalanche type style......any way can some one point me in the right direction ....thanks guys...happy wheeling....

I did a little comparing of some 88 frame dimensions to some 93 frame dimensions in the FSM's, and a lot of the body mounting points are close. The only way to tell for sure is to get under both trucks and measure all the mounting points and compare them. There are going to be differences because you are dealing with 2 different generations and p/u vs 4Runner. You are bound to have to make some modifications.

Canada right on....

That sounds good....im a ticketed welder so doing some mods shouldnt be a problem....my other question is.. is there any difference between the axles..[diffs]im going to transfer my 3.0 liter drive train to the truck frame and will this work with the smaller 22r diff's.?..or can it be done swapping out the diffs from the 4runner to the pickup frame.....the 4runner has coil springs on the rear axle...the pickup has leafs on its frame....any help would be great....thanks for your time...

The V6 rear diff is a bit beefier than the 4 cyl diff. The 4cyl is pretty strong tho, swapping them is up to you.
The axle housing will accept either one.

As for the suspension, you could keep the leaf spring setup or swap the 4Runner axle and coil suspension parts over. You'd have to fab some mounts or buy them at the dealer.
