93 rear window

My rear window stopped rolling down on my 93 4runner how can I get it down to drop tailgate a work on it. Biggest problem is having giant sub box in cargo area, that won't fit out back star unless disassembled?!

t4runneroffroad,

The first thing to check is to make sure that the window wiper is in its parked position if not the window will not work. If it is, then you would have to crawl back there and take the panel off and disconnect the motor linkage and then let the window down. I can't think of any other way to get it down without opening up the panel. You might also have a bad down-up switch. They tend to get dirt and grime in them. I have cleaned many switches with grime in them and then they worked great.

I went to check the wiper, it was not in park position so I went to move it and dosent work. Could this wipe not working be the cause of all of it..also I can hear the relay click with the down-up button or the key. The switch is a little gumed up.should o completely diassemble it to clean it ?

t4runneroffroad,

I would make sure that you can get the wiper to go into the park position. If it is not in park the window will not work no matter what you do with the switch. I would also disassemble the switch and give it a good cleaning also.
