More info on what you're looking for would help. Where did you get e-17 from?

e-17 splice point

exactly Ha! was trying to locate the e-17 splice point. Found a tsb for intermittent engagement of over drive, and the 4-runner i have is acting up a bit. So my toyota shop manual says to inspect splice point e-17. Was unable to find that exact splice point. Found the splices for the injectors but had no luck on locating this e-17 one.

uraverageyota,

That spiice is in the shroud that goes over the front of the engine over the top of the upper timing belt cover. If you are looking at the engine from the front it will be on the left hand side.

uravarageyota,

The colors of the wires going to the ECT are: Green with blue stripe, and Brown with black stripe.
Hope this helps.
