USA towing???

I literally just finished dropping a re-manufactured engine, 0 miles on it, into my 95 v6 (auto), no 4wd 4runner. I am curious about its towing capacity, would it hold up towing a 98 Chevy Tahoe (4900lbs.) an average of 650 miles on a U-haul vehicle dolly or a vehicle trailer? from Tacoma WA to Sacramento CA???

abedog91,

I don't think U haul will rent you either dolly or trailer. Your vehicle is not rated for that kind of weight. I think if I'm not mistaken it is rated for 3500 lbs. You are over weight just in the weight of the Tahoe. A car trailer would be a minimum of 1000 lbs in itself. You might want to think about something else to tow with.

jetwhine is correct. For one thing you'd need a trailer and install a trailer brake controller. TAhoe and trailer puts you around 6000 lbs. Waay too much.
Plus trying to tow without first breaking in your new engine wouldn't be to wise.
