1990 4runner ignition. starting problems

hello i have a 1990 4runner parts truck for my 1991 toyota pickup. the pickup is having starting problems. if i turn the key over to start but not cranking over the engine, if the check engine light shows it will start every time. if the check engine light does not show, it will not start period.

so here is what i have tried,
-changed coil/igniter (i had 3)
-checked power supply to the computer (good - 12.6v)
-so i figured it might be the computer so i went to a junkyard and purchased one. 170$$,didnt make it work any better

so now im wondering if it could be the wireing or if it may possibly be the ignition. also if the ignition would work from the 1990 4runner and how to get it out. it seams to have 2 capscrews (bolts) that have taperd heads with nothing to remove them with, no hex screwdrive head, or anything, im confused.

please give your advise/feedback

anyhelp would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thankyou

91yota,

I'm thinking the ignition key switch might be bad. Or maybe a loose wire at the ignition.
