93 4Runner work fixing?

I've got a 93 V6 with 416,000 kms on it.

Over the past week I've experianced lack of power in 1st gear and going uphill and really rough idling.

I've also seen a big leak in transmssion fluid over this time period. Without knowing what the specific problem is, does anybody think it's worth fixing or should I just retire it?

If the body is decent and you have the funds available to fix it... I say yes!

That's a classic 4Runner.

The trans leak could be responsible for the lack of power (ie the trans is "slipping") or it could be simple as a clogged cat conv.
Fixing the leak could be something minor or an expensive trans rebuild.

What shape is the rest of the vehicle in?

How much $ are you prepared to put in to it?

What would a transmission rebuilt cost? I love the vehicle and it's rusted all on all the wheel wells. I thought it might be time to retire it though.

More than what the vehicle is probably worth. Have it checked out by a mechanic and then decide.
