I've been on the hunt for an extremely nice 2nd gen 4Runner for over a year now... last night my search came to an end.

Picked up a cherry '94 that needs a new engine for $1700.00, V6/5sp/SR5/4"trailmaster lift/33"BFG's/Mickey T wheels/ARB front bumper/safari basket/exterior and interior are an 8 out of 10. Bought it from the original owner and he babied this thing big time.

Thanks, i've been over on the pickup side lurking for a while and now in the 4runner forum as well. This is my 4th or 5th or 6th Toyota and always loved the 4runners the most. My brother just happens to have the engine I need in his wheeler so this thing should be on the road in a few weeks.

I'm super excited to get this thing back on the road, i'm also working on a sick '94 Xtra cab SAS at the same time. It looks like a Toyota graveyard around here but soon there'll be 3 sweet toyotas in my driveway instead of just my ol' 88 truck

Probably just put another 3.0 in for now but only cuz I have another one taking up floor space. I'd like to do a 3.4 but that's a project for another day.

Well I finally got the engine in, it started right up, ran flawlessly for the 30 mile test drive, everything worked, when I went to leave for home the aftermarket alarm system disabled the friggin ignition. I removed the entire alarm system and still no luck. Everything else works... lights, stereo (comes on but turns off again) but I have no ignition/dash lights and no power windows,locks, etc.. I checked every fuse, have new cables, good connections, blap,blap.

Any clues as to what might be causing the problem? I can turn a wrench like there's no tomorrow but electrical isn't my bag.
