Hi, I have a 1990 4Runner with a security system problems. Lately the alarm has been going off for no reason, but now it goes off and the truck won't start. An hour later the truck will start and be fine for an hour then the alarm goes off and the truck won't start again. This is a factory theft system and I also can't locate any of the theft components. Any help?!

I do not believe that 2nd gens 4runner came with factory alarms. I know the brains behind my alarm is behind and below the radio. You may want to look there.

Thanks for the reply and you are right. 4Runners never had a factory system that year, but Toyota offered an aftermarket system that was dealer installed. It plugged into the factory harness and had a Toyota manual and Toyota key fobs. After talking to a Toyota dealer, I found out that there is no replacement parts for this system and I had to just disconnect it. I dont have an alarm system any more but my 4Runner starts every time now!
