Possible purchase help! 95 4Runner w/ 65k miles

Edit:

Nevermind. Dealer was false advertising it as 65k miles. They said the gauge has been swapped and have no clue what it really has.

I'm passing on it.

I am looking at purchasing a 95 4runner with 65k on the clock. Excellent condition. This is at a Subaru dealer. They want $7900 for it. I'm sure I can get that down a little.

My main concern is the head gasket issue... We checked the vin and they recalls have been done on this 4runner, so it has the updated gaskets or whatever it was that they did.

I still worry as I have seen a few that still have gasket issues after the recall. How common is this? I really like this 4runner. But I do not want it to blow a head gasket and have lots of money in repairs soon after my purchase.

We just bought a used car that had the tranny go out on us just months after, so we are being WAY cautious.

Is this something I should chance? I have not had an older 4Runner before. I had an 06 Tacoma that I LOVED and now a 96 Corolla that has been trouble free to 147k miles.

What are your thoughts??? Going to go look at it a little more in depth in about 2 hours.

Thanks

Hi:

Sounds like this could be a good deal. Make sure to have it checked out by a trusted mechanic. Good luck.
