Thumbs up 1994 4runner lift?

Hey so i just got my new baby, she's a 1994 4runner v6 sr5 5spd. She has 200,xxx on her, the bottom end has been redone, and i will probably redo the top-end this summer. I was wondering what sort of lift would be good to get. She has 31's at the moment. I was thinking maybe a 4in lift so i can put like 33's on it. I'm not looking for anything crazy since i'm in college and it will make about 300-400 mile trip so to big of a lift will kill gas mileage and such. I'm not a stickler about mileage but i dont need to drop it to 10 or something, ya know. I have some buddies with lifted trucks and my 4runner is just a little under their clearance. I figured a 4in lift is easy and wont put to much stress on anything either. Also just as a side note i was curious about any problems people have had with '94 4runners, i've already replaced the front half-shafts (preventative matinence on my part) and the head gasket (blew out coming home, everything was way to over-torqued which led to the failrure of the gasket.) Thanks for any help guys!

You can easily fit 33's with a 4" lift.
The taller tires will have an effect on the power and mpg.
Too many variables to give any numbers.
