Hilux Surf sunroof motor issue

Can anyone tell me how to access the motor for the sunroof of a Hilux Surf. After putting the vehicle back on the road I went to open the sunroof and it opened partially - about an inch then just stopped and will not close.

Cheers

astrodoberman,

Try the easy thing first. Have you checked to make sure the fuse is not blown? I would look at that first.

There is a certain amount of movement when i press the switch so I am still getting power to the motor. The forward and reverse is active, just does not seem powerful enough to fully open it or close it- which is a concern

I neglected to mention that the vehicle has been parked up for over a month and haven't used the sunroof since late Autumn around April. So it occurred to me the problem might be it has seized up from Wintering outside.

I have spent the past couple of hours spraying a lubricant at the slide rail and working at it to free it up enough to close it, to no avail.
What little I have gleaned so far tells me I may have to pull the cloth lining back to gain access to the motor - but hopefully not
