Is this expensive?

I dropped my 97 4runner (Limited) off to my mechanic to give me an estimate on the following fixes:

1. Power Steering Pump needs replaced ($400 parts / $160 labor). He said that they have not had good luck with the after market power steering pumps thats why the OEM part is so expensive. Does anyone have any opinion about this?

2. Starter ($211 part / $140 labor)
3. (2) Monroe Struts ($114 per strut / $306 labor includes alignment)
4. (2) Monroe Shocks ($49.57 per shock / $113 labor)

Do you guys have any comments about this?

The prices for the struts themselves aren't expensive, but the labor costs are to be expected with that. When I did the suspension in my old car I just went and bought coilovers (strut/spring all in one), and it was much easier and much faster. Well, I did it myself too, which saved a few bucks.

Suspensions are more complex than they used to be, so the high cost should not be a surprise.
