Probably just change the oil unless you just did it. Maybe grease the driveshaft. How long has it been since other maintenance was done?

zicatela,

Also check that all the fluids are full, check the tire pressure including the spare. Headlights, tail lights, blinkers, safety equip. flares etc. Maybe throw in a few hand tools. Just a few thoughts.

Thakns, I appreciate all your advice. I am driving deep into mexico, all the way south to puerto escondido oaxaca.

I had the head gasket replaced, valve job, timing belt, water pump, spark plugs and the idle valve

I did all this before i planed to do the drive. i am taking my family wiyh me so i want to make sure the 4runner is in good conditions.
i took it to the dealership and they say is good.

my front breaks have 3mm the back breaks 4mm, i think i will take care of that before we go, also new tires.

any thoghts and advice will be great

thank you

Sounds like you've had a lot done already. Normally I would say wait till after the trip to do all that but since it's done...

I'd just try to drive it a bit before you go to make sure nothing comes up. You don't want any problems way down south.

Head gaskets?? Did it overheat?
