help with 4 runner

Hello, I have a 96 4 runner v-6 4x4. I am trying to locate a used engine for it also I am inguiring if I can use a different year engine in it.... If anyone can be of help please do... Thanks

Any 3.4 should work as long as you replace all sensors that come with the donor engine with 96 compatible ones. Unless of course your state has specific laws about replacement or engine changes that require the same year.

As for finding a used one I'd check the classifieds of all the Toyota forums you can find. Also check local junk yards.

Not sure my brother had it and said it blew on him going to work i just bought it cze i like it and tired of it sitting.... plus he gave me a great deal on it and a 94 chevy king cab both for 3000. i just want to make sure if i use another engine i wont have to to any modifying.... thanks
