Hey guys. Thanks for the welcome.
I'm in DSM, IA and she's an automatic. Almost had a 94 manual but picked this up for 250 dollars more.

better deal I think and I'd much rather have the 3.4L.
I actually checked the belt and found the sticker(in an odd location) but it was changed at 172 and i've just turned 191 so I'm golden.
I Pulled the wheels off saturday to find that the brakes had just been gone through. You can still see the factory machining marks on the front rotors and the pads were like new. The rear shoes also appear to have been done and the rear wheel seals are dry with NO running gear lube to be seen. Drive belts look like they were likely changed with the t-belt and all the seals on the front including the pump are dry. trans was also flushed at 172.
I def need to change the rear output seal and the oil i saw was the V/C gaskets. I'm guessing it's just been doing it long enough to get the back wet however the rear main MIGHT still be an oozer. I need to put some oil dye in the system and check in out in a week or so.
The one thing that I noticed when I drove home the first night was a hesitation around 4500-5500. I figured It might have a dirty MAF/throttle body/Air filter....etc..... I check them all out, clean/clean/clean. I pull the #1 spark plug, It's still the original factory plug. Pulled the rest of them and none of them had ever been replaced. I went ahead and replaced all the plugs with new OE ones and changed the wires out also as one of the leads broke off when I was pulling them. She runs like a champ now.
I'll be around here quite a bit and start chiming in on more stuff as things go along.
Seems like right now I've aquired a pretty solid 4runner.
Thanks.
jason.
