2000 4Runner won't go over 3000 RPM

I am having problems with my 2000 V6 auto "stuttering" @ 3000rpm. It seems to be dumping raw fuel into the exhaust. It is running very hot before the converter, converter is not plugged, MAF is changed, O2 sensors changed. It is burning the mufflers up ( 3 in 4 months ).I see alot of issues like these in different forums, but no resolution,Please Help.
Thanks,
Brian

If It's running very hot I'd say it's running lean, not rich.

have you checked your fuel pressure? replaced the fuel filter? checked the pressure regulator? clogged injectors?

If you really think you've got raw fuel going into the exhaust, you'll need to know which cylinders aren't firing because that is the only that you're going to end up with that situation. If that was the case, I'd check my plugs, wires, coil packs, and other ignition componants.

I hope that give's you a good starting point.

Might be dumb suggestion, but did you check the fuel filter may be slightly plugged. Sometime when the service station get their load and you fill up while they are getting gas, it get stirred up and you get some contaminates in your fuel.

Just a suggestion can't hurt to check. Just take off fuel filter and blow with the flow of fuel if it takes alot of pressure to blow change it. You should be able to blow freely through it.

Another mechanic just looked at my runner, and said he has run across this before and it was the crank sensor.
Has anyone every heard of this or changed theirs, what was the results?
Thanks

glad to hear you found it. I wouldn't have guessed that but i can see how it would drop the truck into limp mode.
