hello! I have a 98 4 Runner Limited. Bought it used and have had it for 8 Years with no 'big' problems. Keep oil changed, tires rotated etc. About 2 months ago I heard a pop when I made left turn. It is now doing it a fairly often. I took to mechanic for yearly inspection, oil change and tires rotated and asked them to drive it and see what it might be. Thought it could be bushings. They drove and heard the sound, but couldn't find anything wrong. A friend said something about the a bushing where the drive shaft contects at the rear.
Any suggestions? Thanks for any help!

Does it make the noise mostly when making a turn?
If so, and if it's 4WD, it could be a bad CV joint.

CV joints happens on my work truck every time i use 4WD (chevy)

NO KIDDING! im not going to go into the huge list of parts work has had to replace to keep that thing on the road and its a 2005, but its a work truck so what can you do...
