I just put a new engine in my 97 4Runner, got it running, but now I think I have a vacume leak. It idles kinda rough and I can hear a loud hissing noise somewhere by the back of the engine(left side facing car) I have tried spraying carb cleaner towards the intake and the engine RPMs go up but it doesn't pin point the leak. does anyone know if they make smoke in a can or what is the best way to find this leak? I torqued all the intake down down to 160 in lbs.........I'm kinda lost here.

Umm, for starters, what engine?

3.4........sorry. I found it. It was the throttle body-intake manifold gasket, I put the "tab" facing the wrong way. I was dribbling carb cleaner around the TB and I heard it rev so I ran my fingers behind it and there was my leak!!!!! Runs like a champ now!!!
